Why do I have to have shockwave to view Flash animations online? I put in my website, a .SWF file, which is shockwave flash. In internet explorer it looks like it's trying to download shockwave but it never gets it. However, in firefox it works and when i right click on the .SWF animation, it says at the bottom of the menu "adobe flash player". So why is internet explorer wanting to use shockwave to view flash instead of a flash player????

Flash animations are too time consuming, disturb my reading the page and are mainly ads. How do I kill 'em? I'm a Flash hater. Is there a way to make my Flash animations run smoother? I used a falling snow effect on one layer and when I don't "stretch" the frames (adding a keyframe at the end of every layer), it goes very smoothly, but when I "stretch it" to accomodate a motion tween on another layer, the snow effect has little "gaps" or pauses in between.
